DIG Western Province North Vas Gunawardena has been summoned to the CID to record a statement today over the involvement of the three policemen in the abduction and murder of Bambalapitiya businessman.
A Sub Inspector and two Constables attached to Peliyagoda police station were arrested by the CID today following the arrests of two civilians reportedly acquainted to the victim, police said.
The victim Mohamed Shiyam, who engaged in a footwear business went missing on May 22 and his body was later found in Dompe.
Colombo Crime Division who conducted the initial investigations found that the businessman was killed due to a dispute in the trade.
