Over 2,700 mobile services in Kgala, Puttlam and Kegalle districts [June 10 2013]

Under the 2014 Deyata Kirula program, the Government is to launch over 2700 mobile services by next month to address community needs in Kurunegala, Puttlam and Kegalle districts. Economic development Minister Basil Rajapaksa revealed this to the local communities during public meetings held in Kegalle and Kurunegala districts.

Mobile services commencing next month will register persons, issue forms to apply for birth, marriage and death certificates and elders’ identity cards, conduct field studies for providing public amenities in villages, set up medical clinics and resolve problems relating to land permits among other issues. Both the State and private sectors will participate in launching projects and providing services.

The Deyata Kirula program 2014 will come into effect in 2,731 Grama Niladhari Divisions of 57 Divisional Secretariat areas in the Puttalam, Kurunegala and Kegalle Districts. Approximately 3.2 million people will be benefited with the new developments in all three districts.
