The Sri Lanka Air Force has has deployed a Bell 212 helicopter and a fire engine to extinguish a fire broke out in the Mihintale Forest Reserve.
A helicopter equipped with a Bambi bucket is being used for the mission, Air Force Spokesman Air Commodore Andrew Wijesuriya said.
The fire which broke out short while ago was rapidly spreading, the police said.
