Three persons sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in fell over a precipice in Gingathhena area this morning, the police said.
The group from Moratumulla were heading to Pundaluoya to visit a funeral when they met with the accident around 4.30am.
The injured were rushed to Ginigathhena Hospital but later transferred to Nawalapitiya Hospital for further treatment.
A Tata Nano car which had fallen into a 13foot precipice had received extensive damages, the police said.
