Pakistani Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is due to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow for a three day visit. Previously General Kayani visited Sri Lanka in January 2011.
During his stay starting tomorrow, General Kayani will meet the top military leadership of the country, according to the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo.
On 24 July 2010, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani extended Kayani’s term as Chief of the Army Staff by three years, making him the first four-star officer to receive a term extension from any democratic government.
A get together of Sri Lankan military officers qualified from Pakistan Staff College and National Defence University is scheduled during his visit.
