A Bhikkhu was killed and a young Saamanera suffered a trauma when the trishaw they were travelling in was hit by an oncoming lorry on Mahiyangana – Girandurukotte Road this morning.
The Saamanera was admitted to Mahiyangana Hospital along with the trishaw driver whereas the body of the elderly Bhikkhu is kept at the morgue, the police said.
The driver of the lorry had been taken into custody.
