A member of Dambulla Municipal Council who ran over a motorcyclist on A9 Road was arrested by the police yesterday morning.
The victim identified as Pradeep Sanjeewa Kumara (23) was hit by the councillors vehicle on A9 Road between Dambulla and Matale on Friday night.
The Police Spokesman said the Councillor Dinesh Ratnayake was to be produced in courts yesterday.
