Two killed, three injured in bus – car collision [August 02 2013]

An 80-year-old woman and her 44 -year-old son were killed and three others sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in collided head on with a private bus in Daladagamahandiya on Anuradhapura – Padeniya Road this morning.

The victims have been identified as Sumanawathi Rajakaruna and Mahinda Premachandra (driver of the car). Two other women and a child had been admitted to Kurunegala Hospital.

The driver of the private bus had been taken into custody, the police said.
