A Timber Corporation Manager shot dead [August 03 2013]
Storeroom Manager of the Ratnapura Timber Corporation branch had been shot to death by an unidentified gunman last night.
The 47-year-old victim named Manoratnage Chandana Vijitha Kumara Manoratne was waiting in his car on the main road near the Ratnapura District Secretariat when he was shot around 9.05pm.
The victim a resident of Ekoya area in Ratnapura succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Ratnapura Hospital, the police said.
He was believed to have left for a Pirith chanting ceremony in a house in Deraniyagala area on the same night prior to his death.
