A 17-year-old youth who met with an accident in Pothuvil succumbed to his injuries last evening.
The victim identified as Najumudin Nishkami who was riding a bicycle was knocked down by a van near the Arugambay Bridge on Panama – Pothuvil Road, the police said.
He was rushed to Pothuvil Hospital but died on the way while being transferred to Ampara Hospital for further treatment.
