Fonterra temporarily suspends operations in SL [August 23 2013]

Fonterra Brands Lanka has temporarily suspended their operations in Sri Lanka due to the “unstable situation” in the country, its Chief Executive Theo Spierings said in a statement.

The statement further said that temporary suspension is the right thing to do and they have taken it as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of 755 employees. The company have asked its workers to stay at home.

The decision has reportedly been taken following the enjoining order to a court taken restricting Fonterra Brands Lanka companys ability to sell products, advertise or make public statements in any way with customers or consumers in Sri Lanka.
