A middle-aged woman with her 12-year-old daughter who tried to smuggle in millions worth cigarettes and cosmetics from Dubai were taken into custody by the Customs official at Bandaranaike International Airport tis morning.
Customs Spokesman Director Leslie Gamini said 300 cartons of foreign cigarettes valued at Rs.1.5million and a large stock of cosmetics and perfumes worth Rs.500, 000 were found in their baggages.
Airport Customs Unit is conducting inquiries.
