A 10-year-old boy who failed to score high marks in the grade five scholarships examination sustained serious injuries when his father burnt him with a heated iron bar in Bagawanthalawa on Thursday night.
The boy who was living in a line house in an tea estate in Bagawanthalawa was burnt by his father in the face and the thigh area after failing to score well in the exam, the police spokesman said.
The father was arrested by the police and the boy is currently being treated at the Bagawanthalawa Hospital.
