Chairman of Minipe Pradeshiya Sabha and another person sustained injuries following a clash between two groups of the UPFA in Hasalaka last night, the police said.
Nine persons had been arrested following the clash that had taken place near a filling station in the Hasalaka Town. Two vehicles had also been taken into custody.
The injured PS Chairman had been identified as Wasantha Jayasundera who is being treated at Hasalaka Hospital.
The other person a supporter of the rival group had been admitted to Mahiyangana Hospital, the police said.
