EU partner with Peradenyia Uni to offer schols [October 10 2013]

The European Union and the University of Perdenyia are celebrating the launch of two new Partnerships under the EU sponsored Erasmus Mundus program.

The partnerships will open up a mobility scheme offering scholarships and fellowships for up to twenty five Sri Lankan students, researchers and university staff in 2013 and 2014.

Erasmus Mundus is a cooperation and mobility program funded by the European Union in the field of higher education. The program offers scholarships to students, researchers and university staff to carry out study at bachelor, master, doctoral or post-doctoral levels in a pool of top quality European universities.

Assistance provided comprises integrated packages, covering visas, travel and insurance costs as well as substantial allowances, ranging from Rs. 170,000 to 500,000 a month.

Since the start of the program in 2004, 142 Sri Lankan students have benefited from the program by way of scholarships, fellowships and other short term assignments.
