A fire broke out in a closed factory in the Biyagama Free Trade Zone had caused extensive damages to the premises, the police said.
The fire had been reported in the afternoon which was soon brought under control by the Fire Brigade and the police. No casualties had been reported.
Biyagama Police are conducting inquiries to find the cause of the fire. The factory had been closed for two years.
