One person was killed and another sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out in the Galle Fisheries Harbour this morning due to a gas leak.
Police Media Unit said the gas leak had taken place in an ice manufacturing plant causing the fire.
One of the two employees identified as Premalal Silva (55) succumbed to his injuries whilst the other had been rushed to Karapitiya Hospital in a critical condition.
The fire had been brought under control shortly after.
