A 29-year-old male who went on a picnic with a group of fellow employees drowned in the swimming pool of a tourist hotel in Giritale last evening, the police said.
The victim identified as Aravinda Herath Bandara of Ankumbura, an employee of ACL Plastic Company had gone on an outdoor excursion with a group of 108 fellow employees.
The body is currently being kept at Polonnaruwa Hospital Morgue and a post mortem will be conducted today.
