23 police officers attached to the Colombo Organised Crime Detection Division have been transferred to different units on a directive made by IGP N K Illangakoon, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
The directive has been made following a report submitted by DIG Crimes I M Karunaratne on October 24 related to the arrest of two Constables attached to the same unit having robbed Rs.100, 000 from a Muslim businessman in Piliyandala on September 09.
The IGP ordered all officers who have completed more than a year in the unit to be transferred immediately. As a result two Inspectors, two Sub Inspectors, three Sergeants and 15 Constables had been transferred.
