At least 23 passengers sustained injuries when a bus travelling on Welimada – Haputale main road rammed into a roadside telephone pole this morning, the police said.
The casualties belonging to a group of passengers were on their way to take part in a wedding ceremony when the vehicle had veered off the road and crashed. The injured had been admitted to Haputale Hospital, the police said.
