Two Indian nationals who tried to smuggle out 17 pieces of gold worth Rs.8.5million hidden in their rectal cavities were taken in to custody by the Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning.

Each suspect had concealed six pieces of gold in their rectums and the rest in their footwear. This was the second attempt to smuggle gold out of the country since last Saturday, Customs Spokesman Director Leslie Gamini said.
