Austraian Prime Minister Tony Abbot speaking at the Inauguration of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting today emphasized engagement in a spirit of inclusion should be the strategy in handling issues within the Commonwealth which was also agreed upon by the new Charter.
He said “We are convinced that you dont make new friends by losing old ones. We remain members of the Commonwealth because we believe that this dialogue helps us to come closer to being our best selves.”
He thanked, as the outgoing chair for the support and help by member states during the past two years.
