Three females including an underage girl who had attempted to smuggle out gold jewellery worth Rs.3.3million have been arrested by the Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport last night.
The suspects had been wearing 10 unfinished gold bangles and three unfinished gold necklaces weighing over 676grams Customs Spokesman Director Leslie Gamini said.
The Customs forfeited the goods and had imposed a fine of Rs.10, 000 on each woman except the underage girl.
