Two more suspects including the notorious underworld figure “Ketayam Chinthaka” wanted for the massacre of the policemans family in Kamburupitiya had been drowned to death in an attempt to flee the police custody early this morning, the police said.
The duo who were taken into custody by a special police team had managed to give the slip and jumped into Denagama River but had subsequently drowned.
According to police the suspects had been escorted to find a cache of weapons hidden in one of the hideouts in the forest.
Another suspect attached to the murder was gunned down by the police in a crossfire in Masmulla forest in Kamburupitiy few days ago.
