Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne has been appointed as the acting IGP in the absence of IGP N K Illangakoon who is on a visit to Malaysia, police said.
The IGP accompanied by several other police higher rankers are on an inspection tour of the training sessions of the Royal Malaysian Police Service.
