The Bank Directors Symposium 2013 held for the sixth consecutive year started today. Nearly 200 Directors and Chief Executive Officers of 24 licensed commercial banks and nine licensed specialised banks attended the symposium organised by the Sri Lanka Central Bank.
The main theme of this year’s Directors’ Symposium is “Beyond a Ten Trillion Banking Sector”. Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal will deliver the keynote address.
The symposium is organised with the aim of strengthening banks’ resilience to meet upcoming challenges and to facilitate reshaping their business models by exploring new opportunities and keeping pace with growing economic needs.
The symposium will talk on themes such as Building resilience in the Banking Sector, Changing role of a Bank Director, Insights to achieving Business Excellence and Expansion and Stability.
