797 drunk drivers nabbed during Christmas [December 27 2013]
The police have arrested 797 drivers countrywide who drove under influence of alcohol during the Christmas festive season, the police said.
The offenders had been taken into custody in a special police traffic operation conducted between 6.00pm December 24 to 6.00am this morning (December 27).
According to reports the number consisted of 430 motorcyclists, 270 three wheelers, 95 other vehicles and two public transporting bus drivers.
From 6.00am December 26 to 6.00am December 27 alone 280 drunk drivers had been arrested.
