A passenger bound for Chennai who attempted to smuggle gold worth of Rs.22million was taken into custody by the Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning.
The officials found three pieces of solid gold weighing 4.5kilograms hidden inside a machinery part found in his baggages, Customs Spokesman Director Leslie Gamini said.
