Deputy Councillor of Kolonnawa Urban Council is now being questioned by the Colombo Crime Division in order to obtain certain information related to the OIC of Wellampitiya Police who was arrested over possessing heroin.
Deputy Councillor Suresh Kodagoda who made a public statement to one of the electronic media recently that he is aware of the unlawful activities of the Wellampitiya OIC was summoned to record a stament, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
The findings of the interrogation is yet to be disclosed. Wellampitiya OIC Bandara Munasinghe and four others including his wife and another woman are presently being detained by the CCD for further investigations.
The OIC and his wife were arrested by the CCD for possessing 26.5grams of heroin and Rs.150, 000 received from an alleged narcotics deal.
