Student recovering from javelin pierced accident [January 10 2014]

The 17-year-old student who suffered a serious injury after his face being pierced by a javelin below the left eye is recovering following a successful surgery conducted at the Colombo National Hospital today.

The boy who was hit by a javelin whilst participating at a sports meet held in Panamure Central College in Embilipitiya on Thursday was transferred to Colombo in a critical condition.

The part of the javelin that pierced his face had been removed in a surgery and his condition is stable at present, the hospital sources said.
