Chief Ministers request to dissolve Western, Southern PCs [January 11 2014]

Chief Ministers of Southern and Western Provincial Councils today wrote to respective Governors of their provinces, requesting to dissolve the two Provincial Councils.

Accordingly, Chief Minister of Southern Province, Shan Wijayalal de Silva said that has written to the Governor of the province, Kumari Balasooriya requesting to dissolve the Southern Provincial Council.  Chief Minister of Western Province, Prasanna Ranatunga wrote to the Governor of the province, Alavi Moulana making a similar request.

The Southern and Western provincial councils are expected to be dissolved tomorrow and the elections to the PC are expected to be held by April. The provincial councils will be dissolved by their respective Governors following official requests by its Chief Ministers.
