A 60-year-old man who was found lying on the road in Mt. Lavinia in an unconscious state following a hit and run accident this morning is currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital Colombo in a critical condition.
The victim identified as S H Dayaratne, who runs a drug agency attached to a leading pharmaceutical company was found bleeding on the Templers Road this morning, the police said.
Mt. Lavinia Police initiated inquiries had managed to track down the fleeing vehicle by tracing the vehicle registration number. The driver of the vehicle would surrender to the police through an attorney, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
