Father of two gunned down [February 14 2014]
A 40-year-old father of two had been shot dead by an unidentified gunmen in Ratnapura last night.
The victim named Sumith Gunasekra, a resident of Malangama, Hidellana had returned home with his wife and two children in his car around 7.00pm, the police said.
He was waiting in the car while his wife got off to open the gate when four persons in another car that stormed the scene had fired several rounds and fled. He was rushed to Ratnapura Hospital in a critical condition but died shortly after.
The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. Ratnapura Police are conducting investigations.
