Rs.220m worth of Red Sanders seized [February 21 2014]
A container load of Red Sanders worth of Rs.220million that arrived at the Colombo Port was taken into custody by the Customs Revenue Task Force this morning.
The contraband arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai as part of transshipment bound for another destination.
The container carried logs of Red Sanders weighing around 10, 360kg. The consignment has been declared as 200 bags of Calcium Carbonate. Director Customs RTF K D Nicholas is conducting investigations.
