A 17-year-old girl in Thaladiyawella area in Chilaw had self immolated yesterday allegedly over a failed love affair, the police said.
The victim had set her self in fire sustaining serious injuries. She was rushed to Chilaw Hospital but succumbed to her wounds prior to admission.
The body is remaining at the Chilaw Hospital Morgue. Chilaw Police are conducting inquiries.
