Female Chinese tourist drowns in Pigeon Island [March 01 2014]
A 22-year-old female Chinese tourist who went to bathe in the sea off Pigeon Island in Trincomalee drowned yesterday morning.
The victim identified as Tian Ying, who has arrived in the country few days ago by herself had travelled to Trincomalee.
In Trincomalee she had met with a Chinese couple that had accompanied her on a pick nick to Pigeon Island, the police said.
The victim's body is lying at Nilaveli Divisional Hospital Morgue. Nilaveli Police is conducting inquiries.
