A 50-year-old man who was sleeping under a lorry in Samanpura area in Trincomalee was crushed to death early this morning when the lorry had been moved by its driver, the police said.
The victim identified as Nihal Ediman of Kelaniya was killed on the spot when the driver of the lorry had tried to reverse it around 2.00am.
China Bay Police inquiring into the case has been taken the driver into custody whereas the body of the victim lies at the Trincomalee Hospital Morgue.
