Suspect in Rs.2m counterfeit case remanded [March 26 2014]

The suspect who had allegedly given counterfeit worth up to Rs.2 million to former President's daughter Dulanjalie Jayakody was ordered to be remanded until April 03, by the Court One Magistrate of Hulftsdorp today.

The suspect Krishantha Perera, a Managing Director of a leading garment factory was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department for allegedly giving 403 forged Rs.5, 000 notes to Mrs. Jayakody yesterday.

CID is conducting investigations, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
