A 28-year-old Maldivian male who was bathing in the sea in Ambalangoda has drowned yesterday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Ali Thoha, a tourist who had visited the area.
The people in the area had rushed the victim to Balapitiya Hospital but was pronounced dead up on admission.
