The police have arrested 1130 drunk drivers during the past few days according to the special program launched to apprehend those who drive under the influence of alcohol.
253 drunk drivers had been taken into custody within the 24 hours started from Tuesday 6.00am to today 6.00am, the police spokesman said.
The programme to arrest drunk drivers during the festive season was commenced on last Thursday (10) 6.00am and so far 11 passenger transport bus drivers, 609 motorcyclists, 403 three-wheeler drivers and 107 other motorists have been apprehended.
