Interpol issues Red Notices against 96 Sri Lankans [April 17 2014]

International Police based in Leon, France has issued 96 Red Notices against wanted Sri Lankan suspects including 40 LTTE operatives who are currently living abroad evading arrest, the police said.

Red Notices have been issued on the request made by the Interpol Branch of Sri Lanka Police where 40 suspects who had been identified as aiding and abetting the locally defunct LTTE.

Also Red Notices were issued for 56 non - LTTE suspects wanted for various offences including drug peddling, murder and other organised crimes, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
