A countrywide tsunami rehearsal is being conducted by the Disaster Management Unit in 14 districts on the coastline at present.
The rehearsal will be conducted by activating the early warning towers of the respective districts to warn the people to evacuate the areas through designated routes as soon as possible.
The motive of the rehearsal was to check the early warning towers and to educate the public on how to act during an emergency, the DMC said.
