Tea pluckers hospitalised following wasp attack [May 16 2014]

Nine female tea pluckers who came under a wasp attack in Norwood were hospitalised this morning, the police said.

The women workers who were engaged in tea plucking in Industry estate had been admitted to Dikoya Hospital. Heavy winds prevailed in the area believed to have roused the wasps, the police said.

Over 150 persons were attacked by wasps and hospitalised in Sigiriya yesterday due to rough winds.
