A storeroom containing chemicals used to manufacture paint in Koswatta, Nawala was completely gutted by fire this morning.
Kotte Fire Sub Station has been informed about a fire broke out in the storeroom around 9.00am where several fire extinguishing vehicles and crew were sent to the scene. Reinforcement was also called in from Colombo Fire Brigade to douse the fire.
The fire was however brought under control within an hour without being spread to neighbouring establishments, Colombo Fire Officer R G Wijesuriya said.
