Motion against UNHRC probe passed in Parliament with a majority of 134 votes [June 18 2014]

The motion moved by nine UPFA MPs stressing that the investigation against Sri Lanka by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights should not be held was passed with a majority of 134 votes in Parliament a short while ago.

TNA asked for a division by name and voted against the motion. One hundred forty four UPFA members voted in favour while the UNP abstained from voting.

Thirty three members including DNA and SLMC members were absent at the time of voting.
