One person was killed and 23 others sustained injuries when a van travelling to Kalmunai collided head on with a cab coming from Ampara on the Batticaloa - Kalmunai Road this morning, the police said.
All the inured passengers including 15 who were travelling in the van were rushed to the Batticaloa Hospital. The driver of the van was pronounced dead up on admission.
