Sigiriya tourists stung by wasps [July 25 2014]

About ten tourists believed to be of Chinese, Japanese, Hungarian and Hong Kong nationals came under a wasp attack at Sigiriya this morning, the police said.

The group was reportedly climbing the famous rock fortress when they were stung by a swarm of wasps near the Lions mouth area.

The victims including four females were admitted to Kimbissa Hospital. Two females had later been transferred to Dambulla Hospital for further treatment.
