<P>Whale washed ashore

<P>A large dead whale washed ashore on Moragalla beach in Aluthgama this morning, the police said. 

<P>The people in the area first noticed the 25 feet long beast being washed shore in the wee hours.

<P>The message was soon spread across the neighbouring areas making residents in great numbers to visit the scene to witness this unusual occurrence. 

<P>Aluthgama Police informed the incident to National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA).
