Low-sulphur Super Diesel from tomorrow [August 21 2014]

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will introduce a new brand of Super Diesel which it said was ultra low in sulphur to Sri Lankas market from tomorrow (August 22).

Petroleum Industries Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said the new product, will be introduced at the same cost as Lanka Super Diesel although it has many benefits and is superior by any world standard.

At a press conference held at the Ministry auditorium this morning, he said the product enhances the life span of engines and also helps to improve engine performance and fuel efficiency.

One of the key advantages is its environmental friendliness, reducing the emissions of toxic fumes such as sulphur, oxides of nitrogen and black smoke by 90 per cent.

A ceremony will be held in Kurunegala tomorrow to mark the lauch of Lanka Super Diesel 4 star for the benefit of Lankan vehicle owners.
