Armed gang nabbed in Tissamaharama [September 05 2014]

A three-member gang possessing several firearms and ammunition was taken into custody by the Tangalle Divisional Crime Detection Bureau in Tissamaharama yesterday, the police said.

The suspects reportedly from Mahasenpura and Ranminitenna areas were arrested on suspicion and found four locally made revolvers, a pistol, 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition, four T-56 ammunition.

The suspects had not possessed any license for the weapons. They were produced before Tissamaharama Magistrate Courts and remanded.
